Privacy Policy

Last updated: July 23, 2026

The short version: SlashApply stores everything on your own device. We do not run servers that collect your data, we do not use analytics or tracking, and we never sell or transfer your information to anyone.

1. Overview

SlashApply ("the extension", "we", "us") is a Chrome browser extension that helps you fill repetitive job application fields using slash commands, reusable templates, saved variables, and stored resumes. This policy explains what data the extension handles and how it is stored.

2. Data we handle

All data you create in SlashApply is entered by you and stored locally in your browser. This may include:

  • Templates and snippets — the reusable text you save, including any personal details you choose to put in them.
  • Variables — key-value pairs such as your name, email, portfolio link, or other information you decide to store.
  • Resumes — PDF or DOCX files you upload for quick attachment to job applications.
  • Profiles and settings — your organizational groupings and extension preferences such as the command trigger.

You are in full control of this content. Because it can contain personally identifiable information, you should only store details you are comfortable keeping in your own browser.

3. How your data is stored

SlashApply uses Chrome's local extension storage (chrome.storage.local) and the browser's IndexedDB to save your content on your device. This data:

  • Stays on the computer where you use the extension.
  • Is never transmitted to us or any third-party server.
  • Is not synced across devices by us.
  • Is accessible only to the SlashApply extension within your browser.

4. Data we do not collect

SlashApply does not collect, log, or transmit any of the following:

  • Analytics, usage metrics, or telemetry.
  • Your browsing history or the pages you visit.
  • Keystrokes, clicks, or on-page activity beyond what is required to insert your saved content into the field you choose.
  • Account information — SlashApply has no accounts and requires no sign-up.

5. Permissions

The extension requests only the permissions required for its single purpose:

  • Storage — to save your templates, variables, resumes, profiles, and settings locally in your browser.
  • Host access (content scripts) — to detect the field you are typing in and insert your saved content, and to let you attach your resume to upload fields on the sites where you apply. This access is used only on the page, in response to your actions, and does not send page data anywhere.

6. Remote code

SlashApply does not load or execute any remote code. All JavaScript and assets are packaged within the extension itself.

7. Data sharing and sale

We do not sell or transfer your data to third parties. We do not use your data for purposes unrelated to the extension's single purpose, and we do not use it to determine creditworthiness or for lending purposes.

8. Deleting your data

You can remove your data at any time:

  • Delete individual templates, variables, or resumes from within the extension.
  • Use "Reset to sample data" in Settings to clear your content.
  • Uninstall the extension to permanently remove all locally stored data.

9. Children's privacy

SlashApply is intended for general audiences applying to jobs and is not directed at children under 13.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy to reflect changes to the extension. Material changes will be posted on this page with an updated date above.
